Assisi, Siena, Loppiano, Florence, San Giovanni Rotondo and Rome
Since ancient times, human beings have been summoned to experience sanctity. We can read in the Bible what the Lord said to Abraham: “ Walk in My presence and be perfect” (Genesis 17: 1). This invitation continues to beckon us even today.
With this trip, we shall have the opportunity to meet some of the great witnesses of our faith who have lived in Italy since the times of the Catacombs to this day, including Saints Peter and Paul, Jean-Paul II (Rome), Padre Pio (San Giovanni Rotondo), Saints Francis and Clare (Assisi), Saint Catherine (Siena), Chiara Lubich (Loppiano and Castel Gandolfo). We shall also attend a Papal Audience with Benedict XVI and a special Mass for Pentecost in the Pantheon where we will be showered with rose petals from the Cupola.
THE TOUR IS DESIGNED TO:
- Facilitate a personal and group spiritual journey;
- Gain further knowledge of some of the great witnesses of our Faith in Italy;
- Become aware that the Call to Holiness is available to each individual, that it is only necessary to be attentive to do the will of God, that it is not only reserved for those with a religious vocation, but also to the lay people called to live the Gospel wherever they are (within their family, workplace or community);
- Discover some of the great cultural treasures of Italy.
